I'm excited about it so I decided to post it. I'm starting my first day in training for US Airways working on the ramp. Besides for the hotter then hell heat, I think it should be fun and I cant wait. So hopefully I will meet some of you fellow a.netters that work down there.
Ugh, it was 97º here yesterday and it felt like 120 on the ramp. I cannot imagine in PHX where it is actually a 120 sometimes... Drink lots of water before you go and while on the ramp. I did not do it on my first day, and you get so fatigued.
Training really sucks. Especially if you have to do hazmat stuff, which I imagine you will. Practical training is ok, just be sure to know your hand signals. Otherwise you will get down there and not know what your lead is doing. You cannot hear a thing with the engines running, so technically you will be screwed with no idea what to do. Make sure you have gloves and knee pads (you'll be sorry if you don't) and you should be good to go.

Great, good luck. I always wanted to work on the ramp to loose a few extra pounds instead of being in my office. But even in LA when i take a walk to the plane around noon. it s super hot, specially with all the equipment and planes engines.
Thinking of it my office is not bad.

I shot at PHX this past March and loved it. I will be back a couple of times in the winter time when I am out that way. Would love to meet up.

I started training at corporate headquarters today too.
I arrived in PHX on Saturday afternoon, and after living in Florida for 5 years I must say the heat here is something else. Tomorrow I start formal training in the Rio Salado west facility- it's alot of fun to finally start working for an airline.
Thats funny there was another Anetter at the new hire orientation today in the US headquarters. Have fun at the ramp and welcome to this extremmely hot city.
