This has made me ponder for sometime now....
Lets say you are controlling, and the snowbirds/blue angels/thunderbirds happen to be done their show at ADW, they land wait for the next morning .... and depart. How does the team travel(flying team)?... in formation(some distances are well over 700NM and it would be hard to hold a formation for that long) , do they climb to altitudes of 20,000+? The golden question is how they are contact different centers? Like would it be Thunderbird 1 Or Snowbird 1 , etc who takes care of all the radio work? A
- If The Thunderbirds are making a long distance trip where they need to bring their tankers (KC-135 or KC-10), then the tanker takes care of their navagation and the tanker take care of the radio traffic with ATC saying "[Callsign] Flight of 9............." Thunderbirds make cross country trips all the time during the show season.
Flying is the second greatest thrill known to mankind, landing is the first!
