Martinair will start flights to Curacao (CUR) initially via Barbados and then from December onwards non-stop, this winter season (from October 29). Martinair already flew this route 7 years ago.
The same airline will also start routes to Paramaribo (PBM) Suriname. Although Martinair is not confirming this yet. It was announced by a major travel-agency in The Netherlands, Does and Cadushi Tours.
Both routes will be done by Boeing 767-300s.
So for Curacao this means heavy competition for Arkefly, who is doing the same route with the same A/C. And for Surinam this means that the ticket prices can come down. KLM/Surinam Airlines have a monopoly on this route and ticketprices have been very high. Altough Martinair is 49.5% owned by KLM.

Quoting Humberside (Reply 1): I take these routes will be flown as charters and not scheduled flights
The majority of Martinair's service is scheduled, and this will be too. Paramaibo will be an extension of the Tobago route once a week, non-stop once a week.
