Today i was chatting to a friend who has recently flown from BHX-PMI with Futura.
He could not praise them enough! The aircraft had drop-down video equipment with latest blockbuster movies! He said he had lovely food and the cabin crew were brilliant. Even more - the whole plane was equipped with LEATHER SEATS! Also, he is very tall and he said that legroom was not a problem, it was fine. Oh yeah, even more, aswell as the fold down table he had one of those tables that comes out of the arm of your seat, and he was in the middle of the plane.
I was amazed to hear this! I just thought of Futura as a cheap charter airline!
What i want to know is that is this usual. perhaps he was on one of the new 737-800's , or is this common on all the Furura planes, even the older 737-400's. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No not all Futura planes are alike.
I flew EMA-TFS-EMA on Futura in March, and your friend was lucky because he got a 737-800. The 737-400s don't have any IFE, and the seats are very uncomfortable - in particular the seatbacks are low and don't provide any neck/head support. If your friend had a table that came out of the armrest, he would have been in an overwing exit row, which would explain why the legroom was so good!
Crew was probably luck of the draw, ours were terrible! Typically surly Spanish service!
