Its been a while since I flew through BKK but am slightly confused. I am arriving on LX from ZRH and connecting to KUL on TG. Do I have to change terminals at BKK. I need to clear Immigration at BKK due to my ticket restrictions and only have 1hr 50mins - is this enough time to clear Arrivals at BKK and check-in for my connection to KUL on TG?

You will not have to clear customs -- you will stay in the international terminal. TG has a large transfer desk, I imagine you should be okay on time, although it's always worth asking to get a boarding pass in ZRH!

only if it were a codeshare, and they can check bags all the way through at the best, but I dont think LX can issue a TG boarding pass unless it was on the codeshare with LX.
but the guy in this post is saying he has some sort of restriction that tells him to check in at ticketside, not transit in BKK??

Not sure what you mean by 'ticket restrictions' but 1hr 50 should be enough time. They may be T1 & T2 but they are the same building and you can walk from one to the other.
As LX is now in *A with TG you should be able to check your luggage and get your second BP in ZRH.

AA is in A* with CX and would not give me boarding passes on CX, they said I still had to get them in NRT at a CX transit counter.

Unfortunately - I do as advised by Thai Airways in London.
This is because my ticket is an E-Ticket on LX but KUL is not an E-Ticket station so they cannot issue me my BKK-KL connection until I arrive into BKK at the Airport Ticket Office which is landside. See me other more recent post as I might just sod the BKK-KL ticket at UK-fares and purchase a 'local Thai fare'.
