A my Italian friend from VCE told me today it was inaugurated the first DL service to Venice Marco Polo in cooperation with AZ.

Anybody knows the LF of the first flight and how goes in general the DL flight JFK/VCE?

Both the ATL and JFK-VCE flights last night had 90-95% load factors. The JFK-VCE does very well on a year-round basis (last winter, its frequencies were only reduced to 5x weekly while others such as NCE and IST saw 3x weekly). VCE has a good amount of business passengers as well due to the industry and general prosperity in that region, and the back is filled with a significant number of cruise passengers during spring, summer, and fall.

IMO, that is probably a typical Trans Atlantic LF for DL at this time of the year. In addition to DL agressive Europenean expansion, the marketing efforts are equally tanacious. Given the size of ATL, pax loyalty of NYC and the AZ code-share, it's hard for this not too work.

JFK-VCE is up there in terms of load factors, (in the Top 3 of DL's JFK transatlantic routes on a year-round basis; IIRC, #1 last year was JFK-FCO) but as you must know by now, high LFs are not indicative of a route's profitability......

In the summer there is quite a bit of cruise traffic.
