Apparently at 23:00 on June6 an AC Jazz RJ made an emergency landing at YYZ. The passengers were apparently off loaded onto busses and the aircraft towed back minus a few tires.

Anyone have more details, cause, etc????

I can find Jazz 8839 coming back to CYYZ around that time.. It seems to be a hydralic problem. From Flightaware they seems to have circle (at YWT?) for a long time (dump fuel?) before they return back. They landed at Rwy 05 according to Liveatc.net.. I *assume* they didn't burst a few tires as the tower asked them to contact ground after a while. Some equipments was out for them though (as they requested)

Thanks for the news. My kid was on the Vista ramp and thought it was short a few tires.

Hydraulic loss after t/o, held to burn off fuel as it was overweight - reduced braking capabilities resulting in very hot brakes, and the request to offload the passengers remotely. Subsequently towed to hangar.

What aircraft was this? CRJ-200? 705? One of the new Embraers (or are they strictly mainline). I assume it wasn't a DHC-8 since "RJ" was used in the thread starter.

Anyone know?

Never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

It should be a CRJ-705. 8839 is the last YYZ-YXE flight of the day.

The EMBs are mainline only.

Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.
