I was wondering if any other members have changed their mileage accumulation strategies. For example this year I have used a lot of miles to pare down the number of programs in which I have a balance.
1) Used 140,000 miles of Delta SkyMiles for SFO-HKG-SFO in FIRST!!
SQ1 and SQ2 were outstanding
2) Used 25,000 AF-KL FLying Blue miles for DFW-BOS-DFW on CO in Y.
3) Transfered HP miles to US and used 40,000 miles to upgrade two Y tickets to Boston with the base miles going to UAMP.
Now I have 6-figures in AA and 6-figures in UA. The miles in CO OnePss will be depleted after I redeem 1 ticket for QF(QF94/QF25-135,000).
When I fly CO and DL, miles go to VS, US and UA to UA and AA to AA(of course).
Anybody else have a strategy?
I am hoping to try NZ in C and LH in C to Europe, NH, BR, TG in Y+ to Asia.

I've been sticking with Delta more and more over the last few years...I cashed out my US Airways miles about a year ago, and my United miles about a month ago...now, I've basically focused on just flying SkyTeam/SkyMiles partners, which covers the vast majority of my travels...keeping the miles in one program makes it a lot easier.

I'm doing the same, 90% of my flying goes to Skyteam, but I still keep some Miles&More and Iberia Plus miles that eventually I will be able to cash (as sometimes I'm forced to take IB or AC on a particular route).

Well, I have changed from LH (700K burned, mostly SQ F) to UA for Star, and hotels seem to be much easier to get plenty of miles now if you are a low fare flyer. Marriott Rewards travel packages combined with promos and Bonus Bucks/Extra Euros/Premium Pounds offer tremendous value.
Having said that, I just made it back to AA Plat again and I've got enough miles for a few F tickets there - if only QF/CX weren't so anal about Z/U availability.

I wound down my Star Alliance and OneWorld accounts and I collect exclusively on AS now. Their points accumulation when flying AS is pretty decent, and with my Alaska Airlines Visa cards (credit or debit), I get 1000 bonus points when I use them to buy tickets, in addition to 1 point for every $1 spent anywhere else. For routes not served by AS, they have a good range of points partnerships with decent airlines, and that's proved excellent for my on my last couple of LAX-LHR-LAX jaunts.
In fact in a couple of weeks I'm taking a day off work for a couple of points accumulation flights. LAX - SEA - LAS - LAX. I'll get triple miles for the actual flying, and that will take me in to MVP Gold status, and I also received an additional 10,000 bonus points for using my AS Visa on the day I booked the flights. In total I'll get nearly 18,000 for a ticket that only cost me $161. And being MVP, I might even get upgraded at the airport (hopefully!!).

The secret, which is probably no secret to A.netters...
When redeeming from CO ONEPASS, F and C on PARTNERS are quite easy to get, if you are flexible with dates and do not mind flying "off-season". I was able to get two QF first class seats(270k) to Sydney in April 2004. Singapore was just completed(May-2006 and booked in Jan-2006).
Delta has been very easy to book AF F+C and SQ F. Granted I traveled to Paris in September and November. The QF, SQ and AF awards were all done with general member status. I have a guardian angel!
