I'm flying out to Seattle next week (first time in about 4 1/2 years!) We'll be heading out to do the Future of Flight and the factory tour and I was wondering if anyone has info on the current widebody production at PAE. I'd suspect I'll see a UPS 744F, any 744's or 777's?

Thanks,
airfinair

I was there a few months back and you get to see the 777 line. An AF 773ER was moving towards final assembly (think I saw her coming back from a test flight early Thursday morning) and farther back was a KL 772ER and I believe an EK 773ER was entering wing-body join.

If the weather is hot, they open the doors to help cool the factory so you may get a glimpse of a 747F as you drive by in the bus.

Current Boeing info at Seattle to the current day is listed on my site on this page.

Emirates A6-EBP left PAE about an hour ago on delivery, so you're down to the following outside at PAE :

B-HNQ CPA B773 (engineless and in primer)
F-GSQO AFR 773ER
JA735A ANA 773ER
B-16703 EVA 773ER

The next half a dozen 777s to come out are :

574 F-GSQP AFR 773ER
575 ZK-OKF ANZ 772ER
576 A6-EBQ UAE 773ER
577 JA735J JAL 773ER
578 A6-EBR UAE 773ER
579 F-GSQQ AFR 773ER

For the 747s you'll see outside :

B-18722 CAL 744F (now repaired and seen on Thursday all white) plus another new build probably, not yet known whose.

For the 767s you'll see outside :

JA604F ANA 763F
------ ---- KC767 (engineless, dark grey fuselage and light grey tail)

No that was Emirates A6-EBP which left a little while ago on delivery to Dubai.

Got it. She was about 15 miles away, so I only knew she was a 777-300ER due to her silhouette. Since the last one I had seen was the AF one, I took a guess.  Smile

Thanks for the info, Rob. I'll let you all know what I see.

I don't know how often any of us here get to actually see the assembly line of Boeing or Airbus - I for one have take the Boeing tour about 10 times and never gotten the 777 tour, only the 747 line - so if we got to see the Trip line, sweet! No matter, I'm pretty excited about getting up there.

When I first registered for airliners.net, it was around the time of my first trip to Seattle many years ago - my first trip to PAE and SEA (Viewpoint Park - my spotting spotting point) and BFI and RNT. What an imapact it had on a naive Chicago suburbanite! Growing up in next to ORD made me curious, Seattle mad me an a.nutter! I'm really looking forward to getting back to the SEA area after a five year absenece.

Thank especially to Royal's photos, I'm totally psyched for my next visit:

BTW, wish me luck - this is that first trip I take my future wife on her first aviation-related vacation (she's doesn't know what she's getting into!) Sure, she's been spotting with me a few times, she knows the difference between a 777 and a 747, and thinks the MD-80 looks like a part of the male anatomy, but she's never endoured hours and hours at BFI & PAE...but I think the factory tour should hook her in Wink

I can't read my own writing - 573 is F-GSQP and 574 is JA716A 772ER which is already outside in primer.

The KC767, yes, but I was wrong about the 767 which hasn't been seen at all.

Yup when the Future of Flight Museum opened they changed the tour so that you can see both the 777 bay and, when it comes online, the 787 bay.

I work across the street from PAE so I often see planes on test flights and such, which is cool.
