Does anyone have a list or maybe a map of good spotting places at COS? Would appreciate anything you've got. Thanks!

We're still working on our COS section, but you might find some info here:

http://www.rockymountainavphotos.com/locations.html

Burns might be able to help you out more on this one.

A bit off topic, but worthy of a trip if you're going to COS.
If you're not familiar, there is a cool restaurant that is located on the west side of the GA area at COS. It's called Solo's and is housed (partially) in a converted Boeing KC-97. You can eat either inside the plane or in the building which has the plane inside of it. It's a good aviation themed restaurant with a reasonable menu and prices.
Not a real good place to see airplanes due to buildings and obstructions, but it is walkable from the GA area where you can get some good views. A bit too far to walk from the main terminal however.
Here's their website:

I have driven past it...it looks nice.

You have to be very careful since COS is a military town and Peterson AFB is right there so some people might be a*holes about some random guy going and takin pictures. A good place to be is a road that runs paralle to the runway that is located all the way on the west side of the airport. It is also where the main FedEX, UPS, DHL and all Cargo is at. Here is the address if you need to know how to get there ( I tried linkin to the mapquest picture but it didnt work)

1500 Aviation Way
Colorado Springs, CO 809016

Just take academy, make a left on fountain and just keep goin till u hit the airport and find yourslef a place in there

Yes that will be the Best way to find about the place

Quoting Smitty747 (Reply 3):

Yes nice place and nice food but you can't spot from there. But it's a minute away from the cargo ramp where you might get some pictures.

Can't agree more, I just moved from there, people are nice and friendly in the area of Colorado Springs, but when it comes to security there is always a high measure, when I used to live there I had couple of pictures i will try to find them and send them to you or post them.

If you were lucky and got there on a day where 17R is the landing runway then from that area which like Venezuela said the road runs next to Powers Blvd. you can get really some Nice pictures out there.

The other thing that I can think of is if you went on plat Ave. going East which put COS south you might catch some landing babies from there.
