Have now heard several very loud fighter jets (by the sounds of it) flying over Harrow, Middlesex in the last 30 minutes. That's not at all common here, does anybody know what's happening? I assume I'm not the only person in this part of the country to have heard them?

Yeah heard it as well in my office in Harrow. Either something big is going down or it's a rehearsal for the flypast at Saturday's Trooping the Colour.

I'm in Harrow too; certainly lots of activity. I'd imagine the same as Gman - rehearsing for Saturday.

I'm a mile from Northolt and there has been a BAe Hawk and another fighter jet flying extremely low around the Eastcote/South Ruislip area. They have been landing too by the sound of it. On Saturday there was a Spitfire or Hurricane doing a couple of circuits over the airport along with a Chinnock. I presumed there was an open day on Saturday, hence that activity, but I'm bemused by today's action. Just after 9am a jet came right over my house, waking me from my hangover. It was extremely loud but very impressive. It's gone quiet round here now.

My father snapped this a little while ago as it zoomed over our garden heading towards London. It then turned north.
The image has been zoomed in by 300% so apologies for the quality.
