Hey everyone,

*I did a search for this topic but could find nothing so please let me know if someone has already posted this.*

I seem to remember a few months ago that the Pourtsmouth, NH based airline, Pan-Am Clipper Connection, made a statement that they were starting service to Dulles. I checked their website at the time and saw clearly that Dulles was on their destinations list with a note below it that read "coming soon." I just checked their website today and Dulles is no longer on their list of Destinations. I was just wondering what happened to the deal, was Dulles to expensive? I also heard a rumor that they might start service to Pittsburgh.

Any input is appreciated.

If you know anything about BMA, you will know that this isn't surprising. I believe they were going to start PIT-IAD or PSM (I forget which), but it is rare that they stick with a route anyway. I would be curious to know what is their longest lasting city (besides PSM).

SJU maybe? It seems like through all the cities that they've added & dropped, SJU & BQN have survived. LCK only lasted about 5 months & YNG never got off the ground.

Who cares? What a worthless excuse for an airline. Makes me sick that they have the balls to call themselves "Pan Am".

Worked for too many airlines to list. Banktupcy after bankruptcy after bankruptcy.

Amen! They don't have any plans to replace those old Boeing 727's, do they? Well from reading what I've gathered here, they really don't seem like they have any firm plans anyways.  indifferent

I took BMA's inaugural LCK-SFB flight last summer & talked to their PR Director. He said that at that point, there weren't any plans to replace the 727s, although they'd look at that in the future. What's interesting is that they have something like 20-21 that they own, but only 3 are flying.

Thanks for the replies and the link to the previous post,

I remembered when they had "scheduled service" to GON, I believe that was officially pulled around this time last year. I never saw them come into GON last year but I occasionally heard them fly by the airport. I am curious how this airline stays afloat, the markets they serve seem so obscure and small it is amazing they have any planes flying at all. I do remember hearing about some controversy involving Boston-Maine's accounting but that was prior to their announcement of service to Dulles.

Reason given by company was rising fuel prices. The flight was to be to Trenton, NJ.

Most of them are parts planes, however they do have about 8 727's that are airworthy.

The Mellon banking family/Guilford Transportation (now Pan Am Rail) keeps them afloat.

Presumably, their General Counsel falsified some papers to the DOT. Now the DOT/FAA is probing the company to see what else is falsified and who else knew about it. Company has been pushing to get this gone ASAP because they are waiting to get 4 more a/c added to their operating certificate.

Good catch. The northeast destinations would likely be flown using the J31's. 727 service from Elmira to Sanford? With this outfit looking to add the other 4 727's quickly....they must have some idea (or not!) as to where they'd like to use them.
