Well of course the now long gone PSA, was a huge player at SAN. PSA was not only an institution there, but called San Diego home.

Out of SAN, you can fly to virtually every hub - except CLE and MIA - nonstop. Any point-to-point flights are usually taken by Southwest, the legitimate successor to PSA.
Years ago, United used to fly SAN-PDX and SAN-SEA. Strictly the domain of AS now. SAN-Mexico and SAN-Vancouver, perhaps, but domestically, I don't think so.
