So I am sitting here in my room at 8:15 PM at the Westin SFO Airport overlooking the runways and taxiways and lo and behold ... what do I see? Wunala Dreaming... Looks like she just arrived.

My first time ever seeing this a/c in person. Really cool color scheme. Did a quick photo search, doesnt look like this beauty appears too frequently at SFO.

So if any SFO-based photog's want to go out there and shoot her tonight, this is your chance!!

interesting....QF 73 usually arrives at 10:15 a.m. from SYD..I think you saw the YVR-SFO part of the route, which QF is serving for the summer...

Is it continuing to YVR? Would be a nice thing to do now that QF is adding YVR.

Next flights: MEX-GRU (AM 77E), GRU-GIG (JJ A320), SDU-CGH (G3 73H), GRU-MEX (JJ A332).

Today is the first day of the YVR service. There's no surprise that they brought Wunala Dreaming to SFO again.

yes it operated QF73 Syd-Sfo-Yvr-Sfo and will leave for Sydney again in a hour or so...don't expect to see it to often, was mainly due to the start of YVR services on 14 june that it was in town.

Here are some recent pictures taken by me of "Wunala Dreaming":

taken at MEL on 5th May as QF93 prior to my boarding - see entire trip report at
MEL-LAX-JFK 1st Class On QF (lots Of Pics) (by Crdaus May 27 2006 in Trip Reports)

taken at SYD on 12th June as it is being towed to the International Terminal probably to fly to SFO and YVR and then back to SFO where you have sighted it!

There are photos in the database of Wunala getting a water cannon salute on Qantas' inaugural flight into SFO...

...and today she operated the first Qantas flight into YVR bouncy . I guess as their flagship she is used to celebrate important occasions!
I was unable to get out of work on time for her arrival, but rushed down to YVR to see her sitting at the gate, with the nose partly blocked by the jetway  Sad. What a beautiful plane!
I know that she usually operates the Australia - LAX routes, but does anyone know if she will be used on the SYD-SFO-YVR routing again  crossfingers (or was this a one-time special occasion treat)? I would love to get a few photos of her 'in action', without the jetway in the way!

Is that a B743 in there? I don't see the winglets.

Tsl1011. I got to see QF 73 landing at YVR today. It was about 10 minutes behind schedule but what a beautiful bird. I would very much like to see it one day with the BA 743 (eary afternoon flight), JL (perhaps from MEX), and CX 838 to HKG.

Look closely at the second last picture, the winglet is there. In any case, there is only one "Wunala Dreaming" and it is a 747-400 ER!

hard to say with VH-OEE stuck at JFK..it was on the Mel-Lax run last week but switched on sunday and went back to Sydney during the day, then ops to JFK on monday gone and then to SFO yesterday...more likely she'll end up on syd-la-jfk then at some stage back on mel-lax.
