There have been threads here for other UK airports, so if anybody is aware of any potential developments at the airport post them here.
After 6G (Air Wales) ceased operations, WW were forced to drop the CWL-CDG route (as 6G operated it using the ATR42 2x daily). With BMIbaby's winter routes being released and no mention of a CWL-CDG route, do you think that another airline will announce that they will start operating the route?
Personally, a 3x daily service using say an ATR42 or ERJ-145 would work perfectly.

CWL-CDG would definitely work from CWL. I would like to see AF operate the route personally, thus allowing a connection to CDG but also worldwide connections. However, this could conflict with KL's CWL-AMS service. RE and T3 are also potential airlines that could operate the route and would probably offer a higher frequency than say an AF service. What about WOW? Would they be interested in the route?
I'd very much like CWL-BCN too. I think that the airport should be aiming to attract LS to CWL. They could offer many routes from CWL and probably be very successful here. They wouldn't even have to compete with the other LCC's and charters at CWL, but just operate the routes that aren't currently offered from CWL. For example;
CWL-MJV - 1x daily - no other operators on this route
CWL-NCE 1x daily - no other operators on this route
CWL-FCO 2x daily - no other operators on this route
CWL-CDG 2x daily - no other operators on this route
CWL-BCN 1x daily - no other operators on this route
Possible timetable could be as follows (all of the times include a 45 minute turn around)

Depart CDG: 0905

CWL-CDG, FCO would be both aimed at the leisure and business market, as you can see from the timings. Where as; CWL-MJV, NCE and BCN would be aimed at the lower budget, tourist.
I would personally like to see a service to DXB and EWR/JFK. However, with CO at BRS, operating to EWR, I cannot see a service to the USA from CWL soon. Your thoughts?

It would be nice to see some developments from Cardiff in the near future. I am flying to Zurich in 10 days' time and I have to schlep over to Bristol, pay through the nose for my BA Connect (with the emphasis on CON) ticket and endure buy on board at the same time.
A few weeks' back I collected a friend at CWL who took KL from Frankfurt via AMS- she paid handsomely for her ticket.
It beggars belief that CWL cannot make scheduled operations work, and that Bristol can lure the competition away with poorer transport links, a shorter runway, no airbridges, and more weather-related issues. They do have a nice terminal though, even if they talk funny over there...
Of course, the one development I am waiting for at CWL is for someone to give the tables at Burger King the once over with a damp cloth!

WW aren't likely to start CWL-CDG anytime soon, as Ive said, BCN and NCE are very, very much called for! I wouldn't be surprised if they gave RE a run for their profits on the CWL-DUB-CWL route too! WW could definately make it work!
Another route they could start is CPH, and maybe expand into Poland with KRA?? They could also increase PMI, AGP, and ALC!
