Could WA Repeal Doom WN's 735s?

Not sure what % of WN's DAL flights are 735's, but it would seem, if it is substantial (as a % of the subfleet's usage), that more through-routings and connecting traffic from DAL could hasten this small subfleet's demise. Thoughts?

Highly doubt it, we have only 25 of the -500s and they are a good fit for us, they should be around for some time.

Some of our early -300s I believe are scheduled for retirement sometime during the next 2 to 3 years....but don't quote me on that as everything changes and retirement timetables alterd depending on capacity needs.

Dacman,

Do you see any 735's at LAX. If so, from/to where. My perception is that they are concentrated in Texas. Thanks.

The 735s took over for the 732s, so yes, they should be concentrated in Texas.

While the 735s for the most part are centered on intra-Texas flying having replaced the 732, they also do get around the system.

For instance, at the moment of 16 735s that are airborne, two are flying to LAS, one to PHX, one is up in MDW, with others in BNA, STL and MCI.

Given those destinations, most of those aren't passing thru DAL. Given that WN has agreed to wait 8 years for additional DAL destinations, they know that facilities will take 3-5 years to upgrade and I thought they might be planning on fleet upgrades as well.
