Am trying to find out what I just saw. Flying at a high altitude over PHX at 2pm local time. It was a four engine wide body (presumably a 744), white fuselage and some red on the tail. It came from the northwest and was headed toward the southeast, possibly Marana, but not sure. MEX? And where did it come from?

Sure it wasn't an A-340?

Too high and too early for BA. And too fat for a A340. Am thinking it might be enroute the airliner storage park at Marana, but not sure.

Wow thats really weird, I had just got off work and was in the employee parking lot and looked up and saw that. I was wondering the same thing. It was definitely a 747. It was headed north to south. I dont no where it could have been coming from or going to.

It was making some really sweet contrails though.

Cant believe anyone else saw that, small world.

JAL 12 - NRT-YVR-MEX. Usually departs YVR around 11:45pm or so. 747-400, white body, red sun on tail. Have taken it many times... good flight. Operates Mon/Thur eastbound, Tues/Fri westbound.

Hope this helps.

It might be Corsair B747-400 flying to MEX.

I was hoping another A-net person in PHX saw that and you did ! The contrails are what caught my eye as well.
