Just because Delta has an artist's sketch of a TriStar in the new livery on their fleet info page, doesn't mean they're going to paint a real aircraft in that scheme!

Hi,

Those looks great, really great. Hoping that Delta would get this scheme onto their tristars...

I doubt that DL will repaint any of their L1011's since DL plans to phase them out with the next year or so.

But you will likely see some MD-11's and 727-200's painted in the new livery, mostly because DL doesn't plan to completely phase them out until 2004-2005 time frame.

This is on the new Delta site, but who knows the future of the L-1011 at this point. I believe some are up for 1 more C-Check before retirement.

I noticed that when I was sitting aboard the CRJ with Comair. It was in the Inflight Magazine! I was shocked.

Lets hope this never materializes!

Gee Wizz! ! !

That looks like almost everything else at the airports these days!
Whats with the all-white paint schemes? One of the things I have admired about Delta for so long is there classic paint schemes.

These are beautiful planes here, not those posted at the top.

Why does every airline want to look the same now-days?

Dosent anyone want to be unique and not a conformist?

They are on the website, but delta has no plans to paint those planes in their new scheme. They only have them that way on their site because it's a whole lot easier to mock them up digitally than actually paint a plane. This is evident in the fact that nobody has seen the L-1011 in the last color scheme.

How come they dont plan on painting the MD-11? I heard that they are going to be around awhile longer.

The L-1011 will NOT be painted. Delta does not paint aircraft at C-Check. Paint sked is done by some mystic taro card system, absolutely no rhyme or reason. As for the MD-11. I wouldn't put money on seeing one of them in Leo colors either. Word is they are being shopped around right now. To be replaced with more 777.

The L-1011 looks beautiful in those colors!! Too bad though. How bout we all buy the L-1011's and run "Airliners.net Airlines" Exclusive with L-1011's? LOL
