Damn! I always miss the good stuff! - I was planning to go to LHR sunday as the aircraft were on the 27's etc... but decided not to in favour of watching the World Cup!

Go-arounds are far from unusual at Heathrow.. with an aircraft landing every minute from 5am until 10pm, 95% of the time on the same runway one after the other, go arounds are gonna be a regular occurance!

Looking forward to your pictures  Smile

...and many happy returns on your birthday!  champagne

I seriously doubt it is either.

I wouldn't have thought that a landing aircraft would have enough fuel on board for 7 go-arounds, but what do I know?!

Training flights in and out of Heathrow during the day? - Highly unlikely with the density of LHR's traffic flow.

No, these were 7 different aircraft. I also witnessed British Airways G-TTIB puncture on landing and were stuck on a taxiway for a long time while they changed her tyre. Lots of flashing cars around her. I had a fabulous time at The Renaissance Hotel!

No trip to LHR would be complete without the obligatory trip to at least one of the 3 Mcdonald's on the Bath Road !!!.

Great pics BTW. Let's see some more.

I guess one of the ones you saw was Egyptair on Monday evening. I was at the end of the runway going past on a bus what I heard it power up and saw it start climbing again. I couldn't see anything on the runway to cause it, although I only managed a quick glace. I saw an SK M80 just on one of the turn-offs though so maybe he was a bit late with that left turn...

It's literally across the road from 27R. You can see from Christel's 1st picture above what the view is like. The Park Inn is on the other side of Bath Road with no-where near as good a view ofhte runway.

Go arounds at LHR are common practice, I drove past LHR last Saturday on the M$ and saw a BA 777 fire up and go around...as I say, very common.

Great pics, I await more.

I think one may have just happened, couldn't see who it was, but I definitely heard it.

My flight home left at 1.15pm. Allthough we had to wait until 2pm for our final departure due to heavy traffic at LHR.

And yes, of course I shot digital. I had a laptop, so I was fine with space  Big grin
