Emirates is looking for rapid capacity growth, and because of this I doubt anyone seriously worried the order would be dropped.

First, the A380 is the biggest thing currently on the drawing board for at least the next 10 years, and probably at least 20. Second, the only airplane that comes close, the 747-8I, will not be available until after the A380 anyway.
