Do you guys think sooner or later PK will go non-stop from JFK to one of the two major airports in Pakistan? Or will MAN be their focal point? By the way do the 772LR's have PTV's?

Quoting Cabso1 (Reply 2): PK cannot fly anywhere in to the US non stop because of security reasons.
Though myself not involed in almost all of those discussions, non stop flights from Karachi have no problem and Lahore is improving to get rid of the problems.

That´s what I wonder too: does PKs 72LR fly non-stop JFK-Pakistan? I know they stop in MAN for security reason to the US. If not, whats the point of flying 72LR and not the -ER?

PK dont need the -LR for these non-stop route to Canada, -ER does a great job with them, or is this due to season flights: winter sced. 72-LR, summer sced. 72-ER?? Throwing out a wild guess here..

Once the CAA and FAA resolve their issues (which they are), as well as PK getting enough qualified pilots/FA's, then we should see the Pakistan-USA nonstop flight...
regarding the PTV's...click on the
"PIA in-flight entertainment programme" link from the link below..

Anything over 5000nm, the -200LR has an advantage over the -200ER...plus, from what I've heard, PK got a good deal on those two frames....

Quoting BA787 (Reply 9): Could it possibly be that the MAN pasengers add to the load greatly? Combining the two equals a full load maybe?
Tom
Man-Pakistan-MAN does quite well..PK uses its 5th-freedom rights out of MAN efficiently.......
