Has somebody any info about the Air Algerie order for 2 boeing 747-200 in 1983 please?

The 2 aircrafts, were painted in full AH colors and they were stored for few weeks at Boeing field Everett before to be sold to Northwest.

Why did the order was cancel and is there any picture somewhere?

Thanks Regards Didier

This isn't it but there's a couple of pages of 747s in various stages of Air Algerie livery, the photo below being the most complete:

I do remember seeing pictures i think in Aviation News magazine back in 1983 of those 2 brand new B747-200s fully painted in the current Air Algeria livery which was pretty new back then. I think those 2 B747s that AH did not take up, were aircraft that were ordered by Braniff but not delivered, and then were not taken up by AH having been painted in AH livery. Hopefull somebody on this forum will be able to give you more details and hopefully a picture of those 2 B747s in AH livery.

Charlie,
good find of the 747 pic,
The picture of the Air Algerie 747's at Boeing are as rare as the picture of the Lybian Arab 747 at boeing.

I have a jpg on my computer showing both aircraft in Air Algerie livery (red-green-red cheatlines), without titles and logos (I don´t know if they ever carried titles). I can´t remember were this jpg is from, but if you post your email-address I can send it to you.

Both these 747s have been ordered , as AH was planning to open routes to the USA and probably to Canada (YUL) as well.
They shelved this plan for unknown reasons , and thus didn't take both these 747s.

Did747 , j'ai une photo d'un de ces 2 747s aux pleines couleurs avec titres , e-mail :elisabeth.boussuge@wanadoo.fr et je vous enverrai le scan ce weekend.
