The government's record in making strategic judgments about aerospace has been infinitely better than the market's.

Like Concorde? Now there's a strategic success story.

Will Hutton wrote a book that cited the Airbus and the A380, among other things, as a reason why the European economic model was superior to US one. Of course that was well before all these problems emerged.

Many of the posters here with European flags complain about US posters bashing the A380, but what do they expect when Americans are confronted with European snottiness and "jingoism" with regards to the A380.
