So get your cameras and head to the 100th Bomb Group, we are on the 24's so you should get good shots. I'll be getting mine from inside! HURRY! You have about an hour!

I saw the DC-10 and 757 from my yard. Looked like the DC10 was in the new NW scheme, and wasn't as loud as I remembered them. Nice change of pace around here.

Hiya---No, not weather...this was their destination. From here the troops boarded busses and were taken to their various towns, etc.
And a note to those soldiers...Welcome Home and Happy Fourth!!

I pulled into the 100th Bomber Group parking lot about 10 minutes before the DC-10 landed... wow, what a great view of the airport. Thanks, Rampkontroller. For the record it took me 20 minutes from the time I read your post to get to the airport.
I was actually going to try eating at the restaurant...but apparently they weren't open yet. Oh well, I'll have to try them again later.
[If anyone who was there saw a car with CA plates on it...that was me!]

Glad I posted in time for you to catch it...you came from downtown, correct? That's about what it takes me to get to work from Tremont.

I saw these two aircraft this morning via CCTV in the comm center at RNO. Parked between them was a KC-135. Not sure why the personnel were in RNO.... there were some helicopter activities this weekend at the Stead airport north of RNO-- there is an Army Guard base there. Also, Marines often train at a warfare camp in Bridgeport, California, south of Reno. Loved seeing the DC10 here... mostly it's the same old 737's, A320's and RJ's here day in, day out.

I like to claim I'm downtown, but technically I think I'm "Near East Side" -- North Marginal & E. 55th (right down the street from BKL). Tremont is much cooler though

The Marines were training out west. They left a couple weeks ago on 2 Miami Air 738's and a NWA 757. Pretty cool seeing that DC-10 on the ramp.

That was me... I remember seeing you, and thought about walking over and saying "Hi", but I thought "Hey, are you here from Airliners.net?" would seem a little odd
Get any good shots?

Thanks for the heads-up! I was unfortunately still at work for the DC10 arrival but was able to get a great view of the AA757 making a sweeping right turn on approach to 24 while buying mulch at Home Depot.

You got it - I live in Lakewood and was on one of my regular weekend visits to the Garden Center. Did you know that a Target is going in right near 90?

So that's what that is! Home Depot's got a great parking lot for spotting, really. Everytime I go there, I'm the only guy in the lot with my eyes in the skies...some may think I'm crazy, but they just don't know what they're missing! I saw a CO 777 diversion from that lot once.

Well then that makes two of us looking silly in the Depot parking lot! I am also lucky enough to spot from my house in Lakewood but they are not quite as low. I chuckle whenever I see one of the Southwest planes "cutting corners" and making a bonsai right turn for a sharp approach to the 24s...
