This is a case where I'm not sure if I'm losing my mind or whether someone told me this happened. Was there a KL jet at IND this week? It is common to have international carriers here around F1 time but I thought someone said KL was in town for a day. If it was here I'd like to know so I can watch for it to come back post race so I can try and get a pic.

So either it was here or I'm losing my mind. Either option is possible. So if anyone has info on this I'd appreciate it. On the jet part that is. I can figure out the losing mind part afterwards Big grin

Maybe doing proving runs for the yet announced twice daily 747-400 service from IND to AMS!

Kidding!

LOL. Seriously though. I know I missed a LH jet. Last year I missed LH and AF I think.

Ok I'm not losing my mind. Apparently KL was here on Tuesday at the NW concourse. I'll have to keep an eye on a flight tracker to find out when they come back to pick up whatever they brought. Anyone know when the return flight is?

It was probably a diversion (bad weather in ORD?).

Are you sure it was KL and not KE? From a distance the KL and KE livery looks alike.

The person that told me about it has traveled to Europe many times and has been to AMS. Also the concourse it was at is the more difficult concourse for larger jets to deal with. I would say in order of ease would be C, B, D and A as dead last. The "A" concourse also makes sense because that is the NW concourse and KL of course being a NW partner. Its not uncommon to see foreign carriers here the week of F1. I know LH was here this week as well. Not sure who else came in.

Also KL is one of my favorite liveries. When it comes to international carriers they have my favorite color. I am also partial to LH because I have flown on them many times.

Additional Note: There was no rain at ORD on Tuesday.

My guess would be just a F-1 related aircraft.

Quoting Fedexexpress (Reply 6):

Probably.

A few years back there was an article I read about F1 long haul transportation. Anyway it mentioned the teams HAD to send some stuff though AMS as it was the closest airport for the European teams that had a scanner big enough to screen the largest of the crates the team use.

Not so sure how true it is now, but that was how it was then.
