The Iraqi airport Erbil are going to be rebuild by the Swedish company Swedavia owned by the Swedish airport authorities. A lot of the Iraqi Kurdistan leaders have been living in Sweden as refugees and are very happy about the contract that is for three years. The runway is going to be 4800 meters long one of the longest in the world. The Iraqis are going to visit ARN and MMX to learn more.

A lot of the Swedish-Iraqis are trying to get on some of the flights going to Erbil and Suleimany but they are fully booked and the travel centers are trying to get more flights to Iraq, right now there are around 12-14 flights a week from ARN. Some of the passengers are going to other destinations in Iraq such as Baghdad and Mosul. I wish them a really safe journey!!

When will Erbil finally get a three-letter IATA code ? Currently, it only has the 4-letter ICAO code.

The runway is going to be 4800 meters long

Why? Very hot and high, or a B-52 operating base?

I´m surprised about the little posting from America this is the Truth that the war against terrorism is successful getting rid of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. The Iraqi Kurdistan is totally blossom! And Saddam Hussein really hated the Kurdish population! But now Al quida has entered the rest of Iraq but that is a another topic!
