Hey guys, as us rampers were waiting for our RON a/c to taxi into the gate here in TPA, we noticed a bunch of fire trucks and police cars racing by.
This is around 2315..
After we got done with everything on the a/c, the Captain told us that the Delta flight that landed just before them, as it was taxiing, a pax got up, ran and tried to open the forward cabin door, but a few of the passengers jumped him before he could do anything.
I don't have any links to go with the story, but thought I would pass it on in case anyone heard of it.

The question is what did the passengers who jumped on him think he was going to do to an aircraft already on the ground?

Are we sure it wasn't the flight attendant opening the door? You know, that's part of their job

Is it even possible that he could have been successful in opening the door? At what point is the pressurization dumped to equalize the cabin pressure with the outside world?

Quoting NYC777 (Reply 2): I guess he wanted to be the first one out.

Sounds like he didn't try and open the cabin door but tried getting into the cockpit. Just ramming it with you own body sure isn't going to do the trick except maybe knock himself out.

Kinda reminds me of the guy that tried to do the front flip on the TV show, So You Think You Can Dance?.. Instead of doing a front flip, he face plants the ground.. I can picture this guy running, and faceplanting on the steel door
