My family and I are booked on BA to travel to Florida in November which will be my first time with BA for over 15 years and my first ever trip on a B777 (can't wait)

I would like to know what sort of service to expect from BA and what the IFE is like. Not sure if any of the B777 fleet at LGW have got AVOD or not. Will be travelling in economy so realise that the seat pitch won't be great!.

Also would like more information about the experience of flying the 777 as so many people really rave about them!

Any information greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Stephen

No AVOD but the IFE isnt bad - think VS pre-V-port and you'll be there or thereabouts. You'll probably get one of the GE90 200ER birds - more than likely one of the G-VII series. 31" in WT as i recall, and the WT+ on the Orlando/Tampa flights tends to sell out quickly so if you want to upgrade then get in there quickly. These flights are managed by AML but with BA crews and BA catering.

What do you mean you dont have any bourbon? Do you know how far it is to Houston? What kind of airline is this???

No AVOD, but BA's in-flight entertainment is nice.

IFE on BA's 777 from the UK to Orlando/Tampa in July in World Traveller:

To the UK

And there's an extra channel for the Airshow (maps). Seat pitch 31 inches.

AVOD starts getting installed on the LH fleet as of this month.

No idea on base, or aircraft typed being sorted first. Cant wait to try it out.

No such company as AML any more. Sir Rod got rid of all that when he took over. Its all true blue BA now. Hope you enjoy it all and by then it will be One Fleet at LGW so an experience.

The 767s are getting it first IIRC - then the LHR-based 744s.

These flights are managed by AML but with BA crews and BA catering.

Airline Management Ltd, a joint venture between BA and Flying Colours, used to operate three 772s in BA colours, namely G-VIIO, G-VIIP and G-VIIR, out of LGW. That arrangement finished in May 2002 when Flying Colours became part of Thomas Cook.

Since then BA has added a fourth aircraft to its Carribean and Tampa fleet, G-VIIT.

When the sub fleet was operated by AML the 772s were configured for 383 passengers (J28, M355). Now they are configured for a much more comfortable 283 passengers (J40, W24, M219).
