Hey, I was just looking for flights from PHL-LAX and noticed that US Air's website only lists US, HP and express partners flights. It doesn't show UA or any other code-share partner like the old site did. I thought it was odd so I tried a couple differant city combinations and still only got US, HP flights. Are they scaling back or ending the UA code-share or something?
On an unrelated note, what are my chances if any of upgrading to Economy + if I book UA. I'm not a milage plus member, nor do I have any staus on US. Have around 20,000 Dividend miles though. Any success using them to upgrade?

The HP idiots ruined the website and haven't been able to fix it yet. Not only does it not show US* or HP* codeshare flights, it doesn't even show all of the US-metal flights.
Use Expedia or some such site, that'll give you the correct information.
I'm the expert on here on two things, neither of which I care about much anymore.

The new website is a disaster, a bit of the HP maylay, and a lot of the US maylay. However, it still isnt as bad as ual.com.

A few weeks ago, I went looking for a flight from DCA to BDL. It showed the non-stops and flights through PHX. Yes, PHX. Not PHL, PIT or CLT. That appears to be now fixed, thankfully.

Well it also doesn't shows any codeshare flights of the star-alliance, like the LH flights from CLT to MUC.
It seems to me, there is "no big" co-operation with other airlines at the moment. I was booked on SAV-CLT-FRA-MUC for August. All on US except the last sector FRA-MUC by LH.
Anyway,- LH cancelled the sector and so my reservation was cancelled. US re-booked me on SAV-CLT-PHL-MUC (all US Airways). I called the reservation and asked to re-book me on the CLT-MUC LH-Flight which is usually a code-share. Even with a business-class ticket in hand, US was not able to re-book me on a LH code-share.
I thought, this is really strange.
Well I am still a loyal US customer, but things like this really stinks.

I also can't book my one way ticket to DCA for the Fall semester and trying to get a hold of someone at tech support is about as easy as getting a good internet connection from Comcast.

Amen. I booked travel on US via the website and it was a disaster. Constant freezes, boot outs when trying to select seats, etc. I called US and the woman was very nice but told me she couldn't help me because my "reservation is in the HP computers". Even though all the flights were on US. She said the website was supposed to be fixed by 6/30.

Gee, whiz...want some cheese with your whine???
Two major airlines merge; lots of systems, personnel, metal, procedures, etc. to merge and make compatible. Give them a friggin' break. It isn't going to be easy. Give them kudos and an "Atta' boy" for merging into a stronger and better airline. If these problems exist in another 12 months, then maybe I'll be more sympathetic to your whining. But today, no.

Thank you! I can't imagine it's easy, I'm only glad I don't have to worry about things like that.
Honestly I think I've heard maybe 1 or 2 complaints about the new website and it was on the first day. A passenger was not able to check in for their flight. Otherwise I haven't anything bad about it...and I come into contact with hundreds of people a day.
Quoting HPRamper (Reply 5): Those techies even managed to screw up the employee website, so I'm not surprised a bit that the official site is a mess.
The employee site has been a joke...luckily I really don't have much need for it, I don't nonrev much.

Are you kidding me?? I'm supposed to be sympathetic to two corproate entities because they couldn't handle the simple act of upgrading a website in an industry whose life blood is the internet? Were they sympathetic to me in losing my exit row aisle seat assignment, putting me in the middle seat on a 3 hour flight??
And, quite honestly, I could care less if you're sympathetic. I wasn't asking for your sympathy. I was relaying my experience with their website, in a forum where the thread topic pointed out another problem with their website.
And as for your "stronger and better airline" remark, they're NOT a stronger and better airline if their website is hard to navigate and doesn't display a full schedule. The old usair.com was better.

It seems that US Airways.com is starting to regain some composure, I was just able to book two one way tickets to different destinations all on East metal.

I do agree UAL.COM is annoying to book a flight.
I really wish the new US would have kept the SABRE system.
All I heard before the new website was how great the HP site was.
I really find it hard to do anything else besides finding the lowest fare.
The only problem I had with the old usairways.com was the "multiple
cities" section...it only allowed 4 inserts.
This new usairways.com does not have the fare listing function between
2 city pairs (with the fare basis codes) that the old one did.
And when flight options are displayed on the new site, there is too much
information in too small of print on the screen...except the type of aircraft
that will be utilized for each flight. You have to click onto a link for that
to be diplayed.
Can you still acces the UA seat map when booking a code-share flight
via the new website? It was nice being able to pick the E-Plus seat before
purchasing the ticket.

I think the general rule here is...you do not launch a revenue impacting service unless it is 100% functional. The fact that they pushed this out with so many problems is mind boggling. Yes in the IT world, there will always be hiccups with any new product - but at least leave a back up and make sure the core-functions are there.

6 weeks after the website was launched, and it still doesn't list all the flights operated on US metal, let alone the codeshares? No, I'm not giving them a break.

That's because you're in an HP station, and the website lists all of the HP flights.

First you have to get it to sell you a codeshare flight.
