It has been done before - I believe Swissair introduced it, but withdrew it in the wake of the wiring issues that cropped up out of the SR111 crash. I know Ryanair have talked about it; O'Leary went as far as suggesting the revenue could be enough to cover the costs of running the airline, and all the seats could be free.
As for adult entertainment, I think this is less likely - there will be issues about preventing minors from being able to see it, and it would all be too much of a hassle I would imagine.

How do you think people will view such films without
people such as myself, who want absolutely nothing to
do with them being forced to watch them as well?
I don't know about you, but I would be pretty uncomfortable
sitting next to someone enjoying that sort of thing.
It's just not really practical.
