Good to see Boeing stepping up to the plate.

Interesting that they credit an article from 2003 printed in The New Nation.

And they still haven't figured out that Boeing is also building the 747-8. I wonder when that bit of info will get there  Smile

Boeing is not expected to announce buyers until sometime next year. Airlines are still struggling to operate profitably.

...Earlier in Tokyo, Keisuke Okada, ANA senior vice president of corporate planning, said ANA was considering buying the jet to replace its mid-sized aircraft, but had not yet placed an order.

...In recent years, Boeing has lost market share to rival Airbus. The European airplane maker has won more new jetliner orders than Boeing in three of the last four years.

Obviously there are some factual errors in this article since the information is 3 years old. It seems like they just copied an old article rather than find something more up to date.

If you have never designed an airplane part before, let the real designers do the work!

I dont get it. Isnt the 7E7 a 787, which has already been launched? Am I missing something or caught in some type of a time warp?

It's a post to show that a Bangladesh newspaper is publishing aviation news from 3 years ago as recent news.  Wink I'm sure the thread starter is aware that the 7E7 is now the 787 and the first ship is being assembled.  Wink

Speaking of the latest news, how are things in those Thirteen Colonies? I heard a rumor the other day -- something about a tea party in Boston? I love tea, so I simply must check it out.

All kidding aside, it'll be interesting to check out the archives in five years and see how accurate the press has been in general about aviation. The newspapers are said to be the first draft of history. (Some people seem to take this more seriously than others!)

I think this is more of a google search issue than anything else. It's probably an old news article somehow turned new and showed up in the google search results.

notice the 2003 copyright at the bottom..

Happens time to time...

ANA, All Nippon Airways of Japan. Makes sense that that's exactly where the major assemblies will start life.

So this newfangled 7E7 can connect Kansas to Japan? Cool! How about ORF-GUM? I'm sure there's, oh, dozens of people in Virginia that want to go to Guam nonstop.  stirthepot
