My first ever flight! This day mean so much to me as this day 10 years ago, was the day that turned my whole life in a whole new direction. I knew there and then that I belonged home in aviation. I was only 12, and I knew for sure that I wanted to fly or work with these big machines. I don't know why, but I feel so "at home" at airports and around aircrafts. I had never even been out of Scandinavia, and our flights this day was FBU-LHR-LAX-HNL! What a day! I was soooo excited I hardly slept that night and I slept about 4 hours all together from Norway to Hawaii.
Here are the aircrafts that I was on. Some of you might think it's silly of me posting this, but it means a lot to me, so why not
FBU-LHR = G-BIKR
LHR-LAX = G-VFAB
LAX-HNL = N716DA
And then whilst being in Hawaii, I learnt about TWA800 and I was terrified flying home on a DC-10 and a B747-200.

You had a sweet first trip- a 757, 747, and L1011. My first trip was 45 minutes on a 732 and I don't even remember it.

I think that most of us aviation freaks remember and cherish our first flight. Non aviation people would think you were silly for posting this, but I think that we A.Nutters should understand.

It's absolutely not silly. I actually share your sentiments, as of this past June 18th, it has been my 10 year anniversary. My first flight was DTW to AMS on a Boeing 747 with NW.

I'm with the other guys, though my first flight was quite a ways back. Don't put off getting inside for too long. Good post.

Last December 18 was the 40th anninversary of my first flight. I was only
eight weeks old so I have no memories. December 18, 1965 the family left Columbia, SC and went to Tainan, Taiwan thanks to the USAF.
We took a bus to Travis AFB, CA and then departed on a MAC Charter flight stopping in Honolulu, Andersen AB, Guam; Clark AB, Philippines; and finally landed at Taipei. It was my mother's first flight as well, not bad for having to
drag an infant and my 2 siblings.
