Now if they'd only get rid of their ratty A313s which are deployed on those secondary routes. The overall cabin comfort is by now beyond obsolete and not up to par with their A343s and their newly acquired A332s.

Lipe: Tks for the update. Please note that AA has requested another 7 weekly frequencies US-Brazil.
After TP consolidates NAT with daily flight most probably the next move will be to operate twice daily to GRU and GIG.

American Airlines has received special permission, as they did last year, to operate over their limit. They will have 49 weekly flights to Brazil starting this winter - 35 from Miami and 7 each from Dallas and Rio. Plus they have applied with Brazilian authorities for another seven, to make it 56.

Tks for the complete information.
Any idea what are AA intentions with regard to the extra 7 weekly flights? MIA-MAO or MIA-BSB or simply expansion of the GRU/GIG routes?

You're right HB-IWC and that's one more reason they upgrade SSA service from A313 to A332. Rumors that next year one more brazilian route (could be REC) will be upgraded to A332.

Hardi, i believe it will be to expand GRU. GIG could become as a surprise. IMO GIG-JFK could be a very good 3x weekly service.
