Quoting JAAlbert (Reply 2): Cool, but the whole fish tank/bar/lounge/gym setup seen when these things are released will never make it to the real plane.
I'm still waiting for the go-go lounges to be installed in the 747-100s

after seeing that video, i must say first off;
"WOW! looks hot"
but forgive me if i just got dizzy in that tour, but it appears that they have made the upper deck larger (like the whole length of the plane) yet the lower deck has limited econ seats.
thats just what i saw from that, but hella yeah i would love to fly on that.

A very cool video indeed. One that I think even posted here, which doesn't make a difference. At any rate, the only concept that I think will see the light of day is the galley storage. One which I think has an excellent chance.

Don't forget you are looking back from door 2 on the lower deck there...
In terms of the use of the crown area, I think the most realistic thing here was "Sky-Loft Galley - More Main Deck Seats" - being able to free up space on the main deck, without taking up space in the cargo hold is going to be a selling point of this aircraft
That being said, I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the concept of putting first class suites etc in the crown area. At the moment, first and business class suites take up a fair bit of room on the main deck of an aircraft. If you could provide premium class passengers with a seat similar to a domestic first/business class seat on the main deck to occupy during take-off and landing, then you will be able to carry more passengers in all classes. The suites which take up a lot of space would now be in an otherwise unused area.
I know there is a lot of cynicism about lounges and the like ever since they were introduced and then phased out on the first generation widebodies. Unlike those lounges, however, these ones aren't taking up space that could be used for seating; to the contrary they are capable of freeing up more revenue space. I don't think they will be a certainty, but I don't think they will be ruled out completely, either. The fish tank on the other hand...
Quoting Stormbringer (Reply 8): How would those suites and lounge areas affect a quick, and orderly evacuation
Given that the crown area lounges and suites are only meant to be occupied during flight, speedy evacuation from this area isn't going to be so much of an issue - passengers will still be seated on the main deck and the forward upper deck for take-off and landing.

Instead of the single desktop PC they showed that folds out of a compartment, could they possibly make the entire plane a Wi-Fi hotspot? If I'm not mistaken, that's what Connexion by Boeing is, so instead of taking up some revenue space with a computer, couldn't airlines offer Wi-Fi (perhaps for a fee) to people with their personal laptops through Connexion?

United has already installed wifi on it's 757ps aircraft. Just waiting for FAA approval to activate it.

Your best shot of getting A Jet-A-Go-Go will be in Austin Powers 4 if there is such a shagadelic sequal!
The schnapps compartment is definitley swinging 60s Austin Powers. Even the econo suites and crew rest look inviting. But as others have said, if any of these goodies make it to the final bird we shall see. The video was vague, is the whale hump longer than on current whales? The new 787, style blended
winglets look cool. Is this update on the old standard worth it? Will airlines take the plunge?

I'm rooting for a weight room! With all the seats that will have to be removed to cover the extra weight associated with the gym..... Can you say 40" wide seats at 120" pitch? Yeah baby. I just hope the surcharge for those passengers desiring gym use will keep the basic ticket price the same.......
My guess would maybe be a rubdown room (massage) also equipped with Alpha Massage Capsules. This would be less weight than a pumping iron room and, the airline could charge hefty premiums for passengers to be rubbed the right way, especially on long international flights.

Is there enough height in the crown to stand up and walk in? Those pictures show as though there is. Perhaps they plan to lower the ceiling in the main deck to allow more room in the crown. I have been in a few crown area crew rests and you basically have to squat down or crawl into the bunk.
Then there is the issue of all of the systems in the way, but this certainly can be overcome by re-routing them. Also, there will be a lot of weight added for beams to support the crown area floor and all of those nice pods.

From what I understand, the aisle in the crown will actually sit in between the central overhead bins on the main deck. So the aisle level will be lower than the rest of the floor, similar to the set up in some general aviation aircraft, for example:
