Yeah right, as if they are going to when they are the only scheduled carrier from EXT apart from Skybus and dominate the whole airport and area. If I was the airport I'd tell them to get stuffed if they felt like that and I bet they'd still stay as its one of their biggest hubs.

There are other airports in that area of the would that would welcome FlyBe with open arms, CWL and BOU come into my head straight away.

Regards,
Chris

CWL and BOH are hardly 'close' - I'd imagine FlyBE are just taking a leaf out of Ryanair's "Book of getting what you want". They would be pretty stupid to leave as base like Exeter!

Well said Mhodgson, Flybe aren't going to leave EXT in a hurry when they obviously call the shots there and are top dog.

Seems very simple to me.

Flybe are trying to knock their heads together and make them realise that if the airport management and UNISON don't settle the squabble between themselves, EVERYONE stands to lose out.

It's nothing at all like the threats and tantrums Ryanair come out with.

You have to admire them for stepping in and taking a stand. They are merely protecting their own interests i.e. their revenue stream. Wouldn't you, in a simlar position, do the same?

Yes I guess I would but its an idle threat, if they pulled out of the airport THEY would be the losers.

Conversely you could argue that potential passengers will look elsewhere when booking because of the fear that flyBe could pull out and they'd lose their reservation (a refund is not much compensation for a scuppered holiday/trip).

Shamu is absolutely correct on this one.

Yes Flybe are voicing their concerns, but having invested substantially in the airport over the past few years and building a valuable hub they will not want to see this jeapordised in any way.

Flybe won't pull out, but they may consider that EXT is a risk in terms of future planned expansion, and as such, may look elsewhere to base new Q400's.

As Chrisa has said, many other airports would be more than welcoming to Flybe.
