Hello all,
I need some help quickly. I was supposed to go to Korea this summer for my holidays, but things changed and I will be going during X-mas time.

I had a ticket from CDG via PRG to ICN on OK/KE. (it was cheaper to buy ticket like this, than just PRG-ICN-PRG)

I bought also one way ticket with Smartwings from PRG to CDG on AUG 11 early morning.

Well, i can change my ticket with Czech Airlines, but my smartwings ticket I would like to use because I dont know what will be with this company by x-mas.

Therefore I am thinking to use it to CDG and from there I would like to somehow get to Bristol/Cardiff and visit my old friend. Can someone help me what is my cheapest option from either Paris airport to the cities mentioned above. Flying on Aug 11. Any help is appreciated.

Next Flight: Dec 06 PRG-WAW ATR72, Dec 07 WAW-PRG ATR42 with Czech Airlines.

There is currently no service between CDG and CWL, however there are a few airlines looking at operating the route. There is a flight to BRS however with BA. The flight is operated by an ERJ and operates 5x daily during the week and 3x on the weekend.

Regards,
Chris

If you don't wish to use the SmartWings flight, you could always fly directly from PRG to either CWL with BMIbaby or BRS with EasyJet.

Chris

I know about that. That's what I am planning to use on the way back. But the problem is that I already have a ticket on smartwings purchased and they will not refund it to me.

There isn't really a cheap way of getting from CDG to CWL or BRS, as BA have quite high fares on the BRS-CDG route. Shame that WW stopped the CWL-CDG route due to aircraft utilisation and availability. Hopefully, another carrier will take the route up soon, rumors of AF operating a 3/4x daily service. I would suggest possibly flying to BFS from CDG (with Easyjet) and then flying BMIbaby to CWL from BFS. Then flying to PRG with BMIbaby from CWL. CDG-BFS-CWL, could actually be cheaper than BA's BRS-CDG.

Chris

I would venture to say that the best way to get from Paris to Bristol or Cardiff at this point would be to take the train.

Ok, can you suggest me a site where I can get train tickets. How about bus? Are there any bus companies operating between Paris and LON area.

Just did a quick price comparison..

EUROSTAR
Paris - London = 149 GBP/216 Euro

UK Train
London (Paddington) - Cardiff Central = 53 GBP/76 Euro

Total Cost 202 GBP/292 Euro

-----------------------------------------------------------

British Airways
CDG-BRS - 90 GBP/130 Euro

BMIbaby
CWL-PRG - 40 GBP/58 Euro

Total Cost 130 GBP/188 Euro

Flying is cheaper than the train by 72 GBP/104 Euro, hope this information helps!

Regards,
Chris

You could always try South West Trains from Waterloo (where the Eurostar goes too) to Bristol. Its only two or three times a day but you can book cheap seats at www.megatrain.com

So finally, I have made a decision about my trip.

I bought a ticket with BA Connect from CDG-BRS on Aug 11 at 2:30pm
for 74 Euros.

On August 13, 2006 I am flying from Cardiff (CWL) - PRG with BMIbaby at 4:45pm for 40 GBP.

As discussed above, this was far the most cheapest option. Train to LON was like 210 Euros

Sounds good to me. The CDG-BRS fare isn't too bad, it could have been worse. On the CDG-BRS route you will fly on an ERJ and on the CWL-PRG route, a 733. Have a great visit! If you have to use public transport to get around, I suggest that you use the train to get to Cardiff Airport.

Have a look at http://www.arrivatrainswales.co.uk/ for more details.

Chris

You could fly to Cyprus quicker than taking this old bucket of a train from Waterloo to Cardiff!!!
