Currently 734 is used 2x a week. A300-605R was to be used originally as the flight was to continue to BOS but that has not been finalized yet.

I think that the ATH-MAN-BOS flight has been dropped, in favour of MAN-ATH (B734) 2x a week and a ATH-BOS direct service (A340), I think either 2x or 3x a week.

So, it looks like only a B734 ATH-MAN for the foreseeable future!

cheers, Phil.

OA 269, can Olympic if they wanted to, use the 747-200 named Olympic Flame during the summer season between JFK & ATH if needed in case the A340-300s can't handle the load?

Latest information (not yet confirmed) is that ATH-MAN-BOS flights will begin in January 2001, operated by A300-600R. Delay because Olympic planned to operate ATH-MAN-BOS with a single crew, but they realised very late in the game that would put the crew beyond their maximum duty period. This is why the decision was made to cancel the laucj just 2 weeks before the first flight was due to depart - Bad planning from Olympic!

They had all the advertising up in Boston like "See Europe with Flying Colors" on busses and in subway stations. They were all ready to go! The old schedule remains with Olympic serving Boston x2 weekly, only it no longer routes via JFK.
