Hi Britishmidland.

Do you know when they hope to start? Do you think they will (or have) ordered new a/c to cover these routes? Will they use MD-11 to start with?

Generally, I think that this is a good thing. It can only be good for both the US and China that there are more flights between the two countrys.

cheers, Phil.

They also applied for daily nonstops from JFK (originating in ATL). Delta management are such "size queens", i'm shocked every flight isn't nonstop from Hartsfield International. Hopefully the flights would be flown by 777 aircraft.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised that CVG didn't get one of the Japan flights snatched away from PDX!

I find it pretty amazing that a city as small as Cincinnatti can come close to supporting this flight. I guess DL gets tons of connecting traffic through CVG.

I doubt that there is a market from CVG-Asia.

Actually, the CVG/DAY area has a very large Asian population (really). If this happens, the flights will do very well.

How does Air France support a CDG-SXM flight?? I am sure there are not enough French vacationers to fill a 747. Well, because CDG is a hub, as is CVG, that means people from all over that region fly to CVG and connect before their flight to Shanghai or Beijing. So I am sure there are enough people in the breadbasket region going to China to warrant such a flight.
