3rd 744BCF Delivered (2nd For CX)

Just seen B-HKH delivered from Xiamen as CX6661. This is the 4th ex SQ 744 in the CX fleet but the 1st as a BCF. Aircraft is also the 4th "Silver Bullet" in the CX cargo fleet after HIH, HMD and HUK.

2) JA8902 747-446BCF
3) B-HKH 747-412BCF

Next one due for conversion is JA8906, B747-400 of JL.
Conversion job will also be done at Taeco at XMN.

Will be expected to get ready in October this year.

I'm in Xiamen working on the BCF program for Boeing. Good times. I don't know which planes you refer to because we have our own numbers we go by and it isn't the regs, and I've been so busy I haven't noticed a reg on the side of a plane yet. Sorry.

Boeing Converted Freighter

Boeing is doing this for 747 and 767 models for KE, JL, CX, etc.

Do you know what the status is of the first Dragonair PW744, and also if the two ex- South African RR744s have begun their conversion for CX? (Well, the first one anyway)

The Dragonair one is due for delivery in September I believe.

The Air China Cargo 747-400 conversion is a Special Freighter conversion. It's done by IAL. The conversion is not planned and supervisered by Boeing though.

Believe it or not, the 744SF won't actually be a designation for anything. Boeing, as you all know, is calling its version the BCF to distinguish it from 744 freighter conversions under other STCs. IAI/Bedek is now calling its version the 747-400BDSF (for "Bedek Special Freighter"). See http://www.iai.co.il/Default.aspx?do...FolderID=32998&lang=en&res=0&pos=0

They have the STC to convert to BDSF from 744 combis and expect that STC to convert from 744 pax a/c within the next couple of months.

The 3rd (B-HKH) only arrived in HKG yesterday and the weather was bad.... as for the MP, no idea but it should be about soon, same as the 1st for KE and KA.

Well, not really. I think it's a BCF, not an SF any more, and certainly not an F.
