Looks like the move that many anticipated is close to becoming a reality as they actually have a building pegged for their logo. Does anyone have any figures on the real estate prices in SFO and DEN? The article cited the prospective building at $35-$38 a sq ft. Looks like UA (and other US carriers) are going to have to pinch pennies with oil nearing $80/bbl.

Believe all the costs to move the small group downtown is pretty much covered by the deal with the city on funding...also allows UA to have a true chicago zip code and address now grin!! Also have read that the space emptied at Elk Grove will allow them to bring in the other groups in the area that have been in out parcels due to lack of space further reducing costs. Old time UAL folks will grumble it is like have Wolfe back who also had his offices downtown I would guess......

UA and Boeing came from the same company. One of UA's predecessor companies was Boeing Air Transport (BAT). The other three were Varney Air Lines, Pacific Air Transport and National Air Transport (NAT). The stars on the UA captain's hat still reflect this.

Great to see UA embracing its Chicago roots. I flew UA ORD-SEA on wednesday and i got to see what i think is a new sign in the airbridge at gate C19.... "More flights than anyone. More destinations than anyone. More Chicago than anyone."
