Yes another A380 thread, but should be quite a small one!!

I just wondered if the A380 had arrived as the airshow gets under way tomorrow.

I've not seen anything on the news yet - usually they show the larger aircraft arriving over a certain pub that is nearby, it always looks quite spectacular.

I remember in previous years seeing An124's and the An225 as they came in so low over this pub that when you looked up all you could see is aeroplane!!

Anybody know?

Not sure if an aircraft has arrived yet, but Airbus is scheduled to have the A380 perform daily flyovers. Hopefully, they'll dispay either MSN 002 or 007 which have completely outfitted passenger cabins installed.

I have heard from another source that the A380 is doing circuits over FAB at the moment, in preparation for the show.

Don't know how the A380 will be displayed, but there will be a 777-300ER there..

fair use excerpt:

"EVA Air's Boeing 777-300ER Arrives at Farnborough International

Air Show 2006

FARNBOROUGH, England, July 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Look! Up in the sky! It's green, it's orange, it's Taiwan's EVA Air's Boeing 777-300ER (Extended Range) arriving at the Farnborough International Air Show airfield. The new jetliner Boeing (NYSE: BA) delivered to EVA Air last month features a special livery and will be on static display during the air show from July 17 - 23. "

Oh well, looks like any visitors who get aboard will only get to see ballast tanks; from Airbus press release:

The A380 MSN001 aircraft, powered by Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engines will take part in the flying displays every day.

So far, it doesn't seem as though Airbus will be providing streaming video online of Mr. Streiff's much anticipated news conference tomorrow, as was done for the January 17th order-intake fest. Sad
