If you look at the map, O'Hare has three pairs of parallel runways. By the looks of the positioning, it doesn't look like they can use more than one pair at a time. But considering ORD handles more than 700,000 take-off's and landings a year, I don't see how it can't use more than one pair. So my questions are, what runways would O'hare use for take-offs and landings? Do they just use one pair at a time or more? And if they use more than one, how is it possible?
