Hello, folks. todays date is July 16th 2006....
To those who work for Qantas, what is Wunala Dreaming's schedule for this week, starting tomorrow? Does anyone know what the projected city pairs of this plane will be for this week on its operating schedule?
I would like to keep this an ongoing thread so we can keep track of this plane as it travels around the Qantas system....I would appreciate any and all help that I can get....

I'm thinking of going to Ireland on Qantas in september. It would be awesome if I could get a 744ER going Australia-LHR. How often are these aircraft deployed to europe? Or are they nearly always deplyed to LAX and SFO because of the range? What are my chances of getting on a 744ER?
Quoting Jetmatt777 (Reply 1): Will Wunala Be in Town (LAX) between July 27th and Aug 03 2006?
Probably on one of those days. Nearly all the pics in the database of wunala dreaming are at LAX!

You could get an ER if its an aircraft substitution. But its not only due to range that they mainly fly to LAX/SFO and sometimes JNB, they also have a different seating configuration with a larger J class.

QF's Wunala Dreaming is truly a beauty ... I spotted it at JFK once several months back and was amazed to see it for once in person. Other than the 'official thread' ... Are there anyways to find out on the official QF website/customer service where it will be flying to book flights on it?

looks as if the SYD-LHR are opperated by 747-438 longreach.
the SYD-FRA are opperated by 747-438 longreach
the MEL-LHR are opperated by the 747-438 longreach
so unless they have an equipment change or you could try to reach some one who works for Qantas on A.net and see if they could look it up for you.

what does wunala mean?
to some people the sky is the limit, to aviation enthusiasts, its home!
The Dreamtime Legend
The Aboriginal people of Australia boast the world's oldest continuous culture dating back some 40,000 years. It is passed on though dreamtime legends. John and Ross Moriarty, principals of Balarinji Design, explain the 'Wunala Dreaming' of the Yanyuwa people from the Gulf of Carpenteria:
"In dreamtime journeys, spirit ancestors in the form of kangaroos (Wunala) make tracks from camps to waterholes, leading the people to water and food. Today, as they have for centuries, Aboriginal people re-enact such journeys through song and dance 'corroborees'. These ensure the procreation of all living things in the continuing harmony of natures seasons."
Of course old planes are safe, how do you think they got to be old?

Any idea when Wunala will be back in the air? If so, any plans for coming back to SFO and then doing the YVR turn before the Seasonal service ends in August? I want to try and NON-REV on her between SFO-YVR just because. Any help or info would be appreciated!

Wunala was at JFK last night haven't seen her in a while. An evil side of me was hoping that another minor incident would happen so that we could keep her for a couple of days but I'm glad it went un-eventful.
