As already stated in the threat related to the Lion Air B737-900ER order, the CEO of Lion Air, who would do well with a healthy dose of self effacement, has a history of announcing all kinds of grandiose projects, of which nothing is ever heard later.
The good man previously announced such projects as a seperate terminal for his airline, and later even a dedicated Lion Air Airport here in Jakarta. Other announcements have included the launch of a wide ranging international network to be operated with such planes as the B744, B773 and A330. Meanwhile, Lion Air is still operating out of Jakarta International's ratty terminal 1A, and features a grand total of 2 (TWO) daily international flights, to Singapore and Kuala Lumpur respectively.
I'm fairly certain that the announcement of an imminent B787 order is to be categorized as yet another instance of wishful thinking on behalf of the media obsessed CEO of what I would lightly call a rather mediocre Indonesian low cost carrier.

Let's see them actually take delivery of all their 739ERs, then we can talk 787, but until then, I'd count a Lion Air 787 "order" as realistic as Primaris' 787 "order" .
