I need some help from those in the know about TG.
Firstly I'll be flying the A346 MEL-BKK, and I'm trying to select some seats, in the seat map http://www.thaiair.com/Travel_Destin...tion/Aircraft_Seatmaps/A3461_l.htm
it seems that the first row of Business class Row 11 A,B or J,K only has 1 PTV? Can someone confirm this?
Also does anybody know what lounge TG use in MEL and JFK?
Thanks!

No sure what you mean by 1 PTV ?, they all have a touch screen PTV each. I flew MEL-BKK in J on the 346 a couple of months ago and had 11K, which was an excellent seat. As 11A would be, although I am a big fan on bulkhead window seats.

Same...
I have flown 11A, and its great.
far away from the lavs and galleys, and you get the bulkhead.
all seats have PTV.

Quoting Pieinthesky (Reply 5): As a matter of interest, why TG instead of MH ?. The new MH J is pretty good, as I'm sure you're aware.
As much as I had to tear myself away from MH, TG was offering J Class MEL-BKK-LAX, JFK-BKK-MEL, for half of what MH wanted. It was too good to refuse. MH uses the same seats in their new J class

I tried TG on a BKK-KUL run recently in J and was unfortunately rather disappointed. MH and SQ still both have better products in my opinion and it remains that both these carriers' service remains hard to faulter.
Will post a trip report once I get time to write it...

Well, you will probably choke when I tell you, it was $3750 AUD for MEL-BKK-LAX,JFK-BKK-MEL in J class all the way. Bargain or what!?

I agree with you on that one, but it was hard to justify spending double for the same fare.

I don't think you can make a judgement from a flight as short as BKK-KUL in fairness. I mean MH on that route is hardly a life changing experience is it ?.
TG's new long haul J & F product is without doubt very good. It probably feels a little bit better than it actually is due to the antique stuff it replaced. I do think their new AVOD IFE system is better than MH though.
One thing they do seem to slip on at times is crew/service. Here I totally agree they are not up to SQ/MH standard as they are not consistent enough. When they are good, TG are up with the best. But one or two indifferent crews leaves them behind.
One thing I do think they beat MH on is their new AVOD IFE.
