Today CM's first flight PTY-MAO ERJ-190 landed in Manaus starting the regular services of COPA airline to the Amazonian capital.

MAO is CM's 31st destination, which will serve the city 5 x week linking MAO to the rest of Latin America and the US without the need to transit in GRU (and therefore wasting at least 4h in flight time and connection). This service is in addition to CM's double daily PTY-GRU B73G.

I wish all the success to CM in MAO! Competition will be tough since TAM reinstated its MAO-MIA A320 daily flight.

Rgs,

Definitely the new TAM flights will take a few passengers away, but CM would still pick up the traffic to Central America/Northern S.A. & maybe the Caribbean.

It is interesting to note that this will be the first commercial E-Jet service to Brasil.

The MAO-PTY flight may be one of the longest on E190 right now.
I've to travel to Brazil soon, I found out those MAO flights were almost completely full for days to come, not to talk about CM GRU flights.
Maybe it has to do with RG problems and the lack of international services to/from Brazil now.
The goodnews about CM's PTY-MAO-PTY is that if someone from JFK or LAX wants to spend a weekend in the Amazon, one could easily do it now flying CM.

I don't work for COPA Airlines!
