Starting new route Lahore-Bahrain with A310, so far PIA have only served BAH from Karachi, currently service is once a week with 737 via Doha, Gulf Air Fly from Bahrain to KHI with A320 sometimes bringing in an A330 and Peshawar with 767.

The PIA Reps and Crew @ LHR have been getting ready for this for weeks.

The Reps will work both LHR and STN and there not happy about it.

Not sure about the A310 though....I have heard 743 crew's talking about it.

Note: I now work for a handling agent @ LHR and we do alot for PIA.

Its quite a way away, its about 30 miles (give or take) north of London in Essex, so even further from Heathrow and further still from Gatwick. Between Cambridge and London I suppose you could say. A Map probably describes it best:

as much as I would love to see it too...won't happen...certainly not probably before JFK..which has a much larger base...for business and non-business alike..

you'll have to hold up on the -200LR for now.... Sad

..thanks for the link... Smile

so its true then...wow! Looks like STN is picking up some steam!

Quoting Zizou (Reply 12):

but with "complementary coach" service, the distance will no longer make a difference, since its "free"....the service just might be the thing which gets the pax to choose going to STN instead of LHR......

Good luck PK......... bigthumbsup

As most passengers are point to point, what does it matter?

There are many more people of Pakistani origin north of London than south or west, indeed many of them live in the East Midlands and Luton! I guess LTN isn't quite up to long haul scheduled flights...

it's the bus to stansted (now renamed national express a4 to ruin my username)

PIA's first ever new code share destination: Ukraine

Another new development has come up PIA and Ukranian airline Aero Svit have entered a code share agreement under which PK will apply their code to VV flights on Dubai-Kiev route(763) and VV will do so on the Karachi-Dubai flights(A310) of PK starting from Sep 1st.

This will be PIA's second code share to become operational, since June they started the same with Turkish Airlines where TK fly on PIA's once weekly nonstop A310 to/from Islamabad and PIA on TK's four weekly nonstop 738 to Istanbul to/from Karachi, ISB-IST service will go up to thrice a week providing daily link to Turkey from Pakistan.

First 737 to get the scheme, photo taken at KHI by some spotter, this aircraft carries the title "Quetta - Natures Orchard".

Decal's are already starting to peel off some of the aircraft, should have stuck with the previous scheme or the one posted above.
