I was checking LHR arrivals from my home in London at around 9.30pm yesterday evening 19th July, when i saw a VS A340-600 going in on the runway 27R glideslope with callsign Virgin 814 Papa with its bright anti-collision and strobe lights flashing. I learn from acars site that the registration for this Virgin A340 flight was G-VFIZ which i believe was on delivery to Virgin?

Does it matter? They arent 777s. They are thirsty buckets of badly-put together bolts - inefficient, over-complex, total waste of money basically.  Wink

What do you mean you dont have any bourbon? Do you know how far it is to Houston? What kind of airline is this???

I love them personally - would take a 346 over a 777 anyday - beautiful. Allied to VS Upper Class suite on my last trip to Tokyo with work - and thats tough to beat. Best looking plane in the best livery IMHO. I also think they are a lot more rated by airlines that use them than people realise. Awesome piece of kit.

G-VWKD - Big gash in the butt after tailstrike departing Hong Kong last Saturday. Not been moved for 5 days now on stand W125. Engineers looked at it today but done nothing yet. Will be grounded for sometime.

A340-600 Vs. B777 is like comparing Coke to Pepsi. Either can be refreshing and go great with pizza, but in the end, both get you to LHR in style.  Big grin

I remember, the choices were chicken or fish. I had the lasagna.

They were but they have made adjustments (and are currently reconfiguring them) and have grown to love them now!

You can compare coke to Pepesi only in the US. Get out of the US and order a Pepsi and you'll get a look that could knock you down. Like one priest at a church said, Cocacola is like Jesus...it's everywhere.

No no no... in France, sometimes in (very) small villages, you ask for a coke and they give you a pepsi  banghead

i guess pepsi is cheaper

You're probably right....but got to Africa (Kenya in particular) and ask for a Pepsi and good luck.

Time to change your nickname don't U think?  Wink CHRISBA346HGW would be good though not sure BA and A346 suit eachother!  Wink

Great news for Virgin will it be used for new routes or existing ones which need more capacity?
