Looking at the title of another topic I got to wondering how many times have flights came down into water in such a way that passengers have actually had the chance to save themselves with life jackets?
Considering the emphasis that cabin crew give to the whole life jacket drill, even for flights where the time spent flying over the sea is negligible I'd guess it is more than just a placebo. but I'd be interested in your reports.
