Does anyone know which LY 777 is being used today for the new non stop TLV-LAX-TLV flight today?

TLV - LAX is schedules at 15 hours and 15 minutes, the return to TLV is 13 hours and 55 minutes.
If not the longest 777-200ER flight, then its definetly the longest 777 on Trent engines.

I'll let you know this time tomorrow how long it actually took.

The first TLV - LAX flight, arrived 10 minutes before the schedules time, though I am not sure at what time it left.

They had a news story about this flight here in Los Angeles last night. Interviewed passengers about their thoughts re: the current Israel-Lebanon situation (of course). Showed the cutting of ribbons in the Bradley terminal by a couple of officials, and the water cannon salute over the LY 777 (either when it was departing or when it was arriving, it was hard to tell).

I guess it was on the news because of the destination, because I can't remember when the last time a new route by an airline made the news here in LA.

I don't have pics, it was a news story on the local Fox 11 affiliate last night. They might have something archived on their website.

When SQ launched the LAX-SIN non-stop with the 345 it made the news, as it was the longest non-stop at the time.

The flight has operated on and off for 5 years now. Originally it was with the 747-400.

This flight shows 6581nm on the Great Circle Mapper. Should be a number of places in Canada and the US to stop if they need to fill'ER up. (pun intended). However, it should be able to make the route pretty reliably.

Firings, if well done, are good for employee morale.

I saw the LY 777 (4X-ECC) as it taxied past the Bradley terminal at S on Sunday 7/23. It received a water cannon salute on it's way out for departure on 25R.

Actually it is new, the flights up to 2001 where only in the summer and they were TLV - NYC - LAX - TLV., on a mix 744 and 777. They were never scheduled nonstop on the outbound and not year round. There was ONE TLV - LAX - TLV at the end of August 2001 on 744, it was a special flight.

LY 005/006 TLV - LAX - TLV run on tues, thursday and sunday.
LY 105/106 TLV - YYZ - LAX - YYZ - TLV will continue to run on mon and wed til the end of August.

From the first of September only flights LY005/006 will operate the route.
